Summary

SwitchMyMagic is a macOS utility that runs entirely on your computer. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. Your device information never leaves your local network.

What Data the App Uses

SwitchMyMagic accesses the following information locally on your Mac:

  • Bluetooth device information — device names, addresses, and connection status of your paired Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Mouse. This is used to discover, connect, and disconnect your devices.
  • Local network discovery — the app uses your local network (Wi-Fi or Ethernet) to find and communicate with another Mac running SwitchMyMagic. This enables peer coordination so devices are released cleanly before connecting.
  • Device preferences — your list of managed devices and settings are saved in macOS UserDefaults on your Mac.

What We Don't Do

  • We do not collect analytics or telemetry.
  • We do not transmit data to any server or cloud service.
  • We do not require an account or sign-in.
  • We do not use cookies or tracking technologies.
  • We do not share any information with third parties.

Network Communication

The only network communication SwitchMyMagic performs is between two Macs on your local network for peer coordination. This traffic stays on your local network and does not traverse the internet.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. Your payment information (name, email, billing details) is handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy and is subject to their privacy policy. We do not have access to your payment card details.

Data Storage

All app data (your device list and preferences) is stored locally on your Mac using macOS UserDefaults. No data is stored on external servers. Uninstalling the app removes all stored data.

Children's Privacy

SwitchMyMagic does not knowingly collect any information from children. The app does not collect information from anyone.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version on this page with an updated date. Since we don't collect email addresses through the app, we encourage you to review this page periodically.
